Two months checkup!

Two months checkup!

Henry turned 2 months old on December 22, 2014. He had his 2 month checkup on December 23 and his Nana was lucky enough to go with us! He received 3 shots and an oral vaccination. He did really good but we did end up giving him some baby Tylenol when we got him because he was not feeling good.

He continues to do well and is growing! The doctor did confirm that he has an umbilical hernia (his belly button protrudes out a good bit). It should go away on its own within his first year and is not a big deal. If it is still there around year 2 he could have surgery. I'm just hoping for him to have an "innie" belly button in the end!

2 month facts from Henry:

My name is Henry Carter and I am 2 months old. I now weigh 7 lbs and I am 19.9 inches. [Born 4 lbs 5 ounces and 17 inches]

I still am not on the growth charts.

At 6 weeks I started rolling over from tummy to back. I am starting to hold my head up better. I recently started spitting up (tiny amounts), getting gas, and I have an umbilical hernia.

I sleep well and don't put up a fight or cry and I sleep 4 hours regularly but have been known to do 5 and 6 hours on occasion. Overall I am a very laid back baby.

I like: being held ALL the time, eating, walks or generally being in my car seat, bright lights

I dislike: not being held (so I no longer enjoy my swing), still don't like diaper changes or baths, rolling over (it startles me)

I no longer wear preemie diapers and clothes, I wear newborn although they are still a little big.

December (pre-Christmas)

December  (pre-Christmas)

Henry has been getting ready for his first Christmas. Crazy to think that he could not have been born yet!

Our real estate company whom we bought our house through had a Holiday Party. It was pretty awesome. They had free pictures with Santa, a photo booth, lots of food, and a balloon guy. This event was definitely a lot more fun when you have a kid. The balloon artist made Henry a Santa hat that was pretty awesome. We weren't quite sure of Santa holding our 6 lb baby so we took a family Santa photo! :-)

Laura's mom also came for a day for work reasons and we a had a lot of fun making pumpkin rolls and going to the bay beach to try to take more Christmas card photos.

We also picked out our tree and got to decorate it. We continued the Crouse family tradition and Henry got his first annual ornament from Hallmark!

We also babysat Henry's best bud Cayden who is 7 weeks older than him. We had a great time and we cannot wait until they get older and can do more than sleep, have story time, and have back time together!

Laura took Henry to her work Holiday party and Henry was definitely the hit of the party! As nice as it was seeing everyone it's hard to know that she's 2/3 of the way through maternity leave :-(

December 5...BABY!
Henry trying to nap in his crib. Somehow his sock and his pacifier are waaaay above his head lol! How did he do that?

If this is your first time seeing this don't worry, we're really slow about getting the actual print out this year!

On a roll!

On a roll!

As of Sunday evening, December 7, 2014, Henry who is 6 weeks old, approximately 6 lbs, and 6 weeks early can roll over from his tummy to his back!!

We were doing tummy time and next thing you know he rolled over! It caught everyone by surprise including poor Henry who was not so happy with the result. Poor thing cried and cried due to the shock! My mom who was visiting saw it happen with me but Daddy did not see it happen so we called him and to see if Henry would do it again and he did! Henry was still not very happy about his new skill although we were astonished and amazed!

The next night we decided to try again and to capture it on video. I missed the first roll by 1 second on video so the video below is the 2nd one of the night (4th roll total). He's not too happy (hence the crying) because he still doesn't think this is as exciting as we do!

YAY HENRY!

1st Thanksgiving!

1st Thanksgiving!

Henry celebrated his first Thanksgiving with lots of family.

He finally got to meet his Aunt Amy, Uncle Coleson, and cousins Ryan (7 yo), Abby (4.5 yo), and Chloe (2 yo). Grandma and Grandpa also came for the week. Henry also got to meet his Great Grandmother, Eleanore, and his Great Cousins Steve and Howard.

Thanksgiving Day we went to Pass-A-Grille Beach to take Christmas card photos except it was so windy it was miserable! My family has a bad reputation for bringing cold weather to warm Tampa!

One month checkup!

One month checkup!

Henry had his 1 month check up right before Thanksgiving.

He weighs 5 lbs 9 ounces (up 1 lb 4 ounces from birth)

Still in 1% percentile.

Likes:
Being held, swinging in his swing, eating, sleeping

Dislikes:
Diaper changes, sponge baths, not getting fed promptly

Facts/milestones:
Usually sleeps 3-3.5 hours a night, can roll to each side from back, still wears preemie diapers and clothes, sounds like a squeaky toy and cries like a mad kitten, could care less about dogs (even Diego's barking)
